The district is located in northwest Ohio and includes the counties of: Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Lucas, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Shelby, Van Wert, Williams and Wood. There are 23 active conservancy districts in the State of Ohio.
The Maumee Watershed Conservance District is a subdivision of the State of Ohio, created under Section 6101 of the Ohio Revised Code. Corporation papers were filed on June 24th, 1949 with the Secretary of State.
The conservancy district's services include: flood reduction, recreation, water resource preservation, and drainage assistance.
